New client onboarding for The Law Offices of Chris Scileppi with initial session log documenting diagnosis on Sylvia's Mac mini (Mac14,3, M2, 8 GB). Issue: System running out of memory; Apple Mail footprint thrashing the box. Two Envelope Index rebuild attempts confirmed the mailbox itself exceeds what 8 GB can hold. Disabled Mail at the OS level, moved user to webmail, and recommended replacement with an M4 Mac mini (16 or 24 GB). Ticket #32262 resolved. 1 hr onsite logged but deliberately not invoiced. - Replace Sylvia's Mac mini. Current: M2 (Mac14,3) 8 GB / 256 GB, macOS 14.4.1. Replacement: M4 Mac mini, 16 GB minimum / 24 GB recommended, 256 GB+. Quote and order to follow. Once new machine is on the desk: migration via Migration Assistant + reconfigure Mail with Download Attachments=None to keep local cache small.
- Sylvia is on webmail in the meantime. Mac mini Mail accounts disabled at System Settings level so Mail.app doesn't auto-resume and re-thrash the machine. Browser-based mail (outlook.office.com) for daily use.
