Discovered: 2026-07-14

Move QB Enterprise 24 database hosting from TPS-SERVER to TPS-SVR. Data pre-seeded (144GB robocopy, FAILED=0). Q: drive is a GPP map in Default Domain Policy ( ps-server\quickbooks) -- needs GPP update or DNS alias. QB .ND regenerates on host change (ServerIp=192.168.1.125). Decoupled from network swap deliberately -- separate visit, separate test. Blocked until network swap proven.

QuickBooks Enterprise 24.0 migration from TPS-SERVER to TPS-SVR completed and verified.

Work performed:

  • Final robocopy sync of 143GB QB data from \TPS-SERVER\Quickbooks to C:\Share\Quickbooks on TPS-SVR (FAILED=0)
  • Stopped QuickBooksDB34 on TPS-SERVER, set to Disabled
  • Started QuickBooksDB34 on TPS-SVR -- fixed service logon failure (changed from .\QBDataServiceUser34 to LocalSystem), set to Automatic
  • DBSM v18 GUI on TPS-SVR produced IPv6 .ND files -- manually wrote correct .ND files (ServerIp=192.168.1.135, EngineName=QB_TPS-SVR_34, ServerPort=64189) for both schoonerQB2025.QBW and renamed.QBW
  • Discovered per-user persistent Q: drive maps (not GPP) on mel, erin, tina pointing to \tps-server\Quickbooks
  • Created GPO "QB Drive Map - Q to TPS-SVR" with Replace action to remap Q: -> \tps-svr\Quickbooks for all domain users
  • Verified QuickBooks opens and data is correct on Mel-PC (erin logged in, Q: drive mapped, schoonerQB2025.QBW accessible)
  • TPS-Tina and TPS-JAYMI verified ready (Netlogon running, secure channel to TPS-SVR healthy)

Data verified: schoonerQB2025.QBW last modified 7/18/2026 (Friday close of business), no changes on old server since cutover. New server serving same data.

Two active company files migrated:

  • schoonerQB2025.QBW (current, 3.0 GB)
  • renamed.QBW (archive, 2.9 GB)
